On 22 July, 2562/2019: HONG KONG: Phra Sophonvachirabhorn, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs, MCU, was along with the lecturers and staff of MCU to join the funeral ceremony of Most Venerable. Dr. Sik Chi Wai, who was the honorary president of Hong Kong Buddhist Association, president of committee of Po Lin Monastery Hong Kong, the 7th generation abbot of Po Lin monastery Hong Kong, the vice president of World Sangha Council has passed away on 13 July 2019 at his age of 86 and with 56 years of Vassa, is held at Po Lin Monastery, Ngong Ping Plateau, on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.
He had made good relationship, exchange Buddhist education and meditation between the two Buddhist traditions: Theravada and Mahayana. The Most Venerable had cooperation for Buddhist activities with Thailand for many years as well as the Most Venerable had made great efforts to promote and preserve Buddhism not only in Hong Kong but also all over the world. He had also participated in many Buddhist activities which were organized by Buddhist organizations around the world.
